Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Greetings from the Big Apple! As we prepare for the 4th of July celebrations, I want to make sure I provide you with some recent updates/reminders.
Passing of Brother Nikitas Tripodes
It is with deep sorrow that I write to you about the passing of our beloved Brother and Foundation Chairman, Nikitas Tripodes, who passed away on June 4, 2017.
Nikita was incredibly active in the Pan-Icarian Brotherhood where he was a lifelong member, an active officer of his local chapter and a delegate to many of the annual conventions. He eventually became a board member of the Pan-Icarian Foundation and was elected Foundation Chairman in 2014.
Nikita was a kind man, a great Brother and was beloved by all. May his memory be eternal and everlasting.
Athletic Group of Mesaria
Thank you to everyone who donated to our fundraising drive for the Athletic Group of Mesaria. I am happy to announce that we donated $3,000 Euros to help the club continue their mission of providing athletic opportunities for the youth living in Ikaria. Our fundraising drive was successful thanks to generosity of several chapters and individuals!
Pan-Icarian Volunteer Project
A big thank you to everyone, especially Youth Governor Erica Aivaliotis and our Youth who participated in our first Pan-Icarian volunteer campaign in the month of June. Together we helped make a big difference to individuals and the communities we live in. The spirit of the Brotherhood continues to shine high and bright!
July 1, 2017 is the deadline to apply for a 2017 Pan-Icarian scholarship! Please do not forget to send in your application! Scholarship applications are available on-line at www.pan-icarian.com/scholarship/.
It’s time to pay your 2017 membership dues! Please submit your dues to your local chapter. I cannot emphasize enough how important your dues are to the continued success of our Brotherhood. Let’s all do our part to make our long-awaited return to Columbus a memorable one by having a successful convention.
PIB Internship and Mentoring Program Coming Soon!
Great News! The Pan-Icarian Brotherhood of America is working on creating an Internship and Mentoring Program to serve as a career development resource for its members. Though in the early stages of design, the goal of this program is to identify and compile a portfolio of businesses, entrepreneurs, professionals, and skilled tradesmen/tradeswomen willing to enhance the knowledge and skill sets of our members pursuing careers in their similar field.
Through this program, a business, individual, or organization can advertise internships or employment opportunities. The Brotherhood aims to bring our members together to facilitate dialogue and establish partnerships through networking, career development and mentoring.
The Pan-Icarian Brotherhood is fortunate to have a vast number of accomplished men and women with invaluable knowledge and expertise. For many years, the members of the Brotherhood have supported each other through our faith, culture, and traditions. This new initiative allows us to now support each other further by enhancing professional opportunities and career development.
More details to follow at the upcoming convention…
Until next time…
