Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I hope this message finds you all well. The Supreme Lodge continues to work hard for the betterment of the Brotherhood. Over the past year, with your help, we have seen some positive changes implemented. But our work is far from over. We still need your support and participation to help us fulfill the Brotherhood’s mission. That said, please see below for some updates…
Please get to know your respective District Governors and keep them informed of every meeting and event. They have been elected to help see your chapter succeed and grow in membership. As a reminder, the District Governors are as follows: Chrissa Lefes, Governor District 1; George Karnavas, Governor District 2; Steve Stratakos, Governor District 3; Evangelos J. Fragos, Governor District 4; Alexandra Katsas, Governor District 5 and Erica Aivaliotis, Youth Governor District 7. Their info can be found on our website or in the Ikaria Magazine.
Supreme Lodge Meeting
The Supreme Lodge will convene for our first meeting in Detroit, Michigan on November 4th. The Lodge will also be conducting its review of the convention facilities during this meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend this and all future meetings.
As you may already know, a new membership database has been created that allows us to streamline the way we communicate via email, social media and deliver the Ikaria Magazine. Please continue to notify us of any changes to your member profiles. Also, please continue to provide us your most up-to-date Chapter email lists. By utilizing email and social media we can continue to keep you well informed and engaged. Lastly, please continue to visit us at: Pan-Icarian.com. Internship and Mentoring Program
The Pan-Icarian Brotherhood of America has completed the first part of the Internship and Mentoring Program that will serve as a career development resource for its members. We are looking to capture a diverse group to ensure that all careers and backgrounds are represented. However, for this program to succeed we need your participation! Online www.pan-icarian.com/members/ you will find a PDF application that takes only a few minutes to complete. Please take the time to fill it out and submit. The submittal of this application is very important as we develop the second part of this internship program, which is the process of pairing our student members and young professionals up with representatives from their desired field of study or profession.
Your participation in this new and innovative program will be used to assist and guide our members who are studying or looking to gain valuable experience in their future professions. Whether you’re able to offer employment, internship opportunities, or even just discuss your field and experience, you can directly assist our youth as they begin their professional careers. For more info or questions please contact Supreme Vice President Damianos T. Skaros, who can provide additional information on the application as well as the program goals and process. Damianos can be contacted at email@example.com or 716-983-2024.
Diagoras Athletic Club
The Brotherhood recently received a request from the Diagoras Athletic Club in Raches seeking financial assistance. Diagoras was established in 1933 and its mission is to provide athletic opportunities to the youth in western Ikaria. Today the athletic club sports 9 divisions for boys and girls. Just this year, the girls’ soccer team accomplished a huge feat by becoming Greek National Champions in their league. Congratulations to them and their coaches! However, aside from all Diagoras’ accomplishments, there is a real need to help them continue their mission. Team coaches are all volunteers, but the cost of equipment, uniforms and participating in athletic events and travel are astronomical. The municipality of Ikaria cannot provide sufficient funding due to the current economic crisis.
Diagoras is struggling to find ways to cover expenses through funding from athletes, parents and friends. The Brotherhood believes that it is important for Diagoras to continue its mission of providing athletic opportunities for youth living in Ikaria. The Supreme Lodge is beginning a fundraising drive, beginning immediately, to help raise money for this good cause. Please help by sending in an individual donation. We also urge each local chapter of the Brotherhood to make a chapter donation and/or host a fundraiser for this worthy cause. We hope you can lend your support for this worthy cause! Two methods of donations are accepted: Credit card donations can be made through our PayPal account:
Click on the “+ Comment” and then write “Diagoras“.
Please send your donations to:
Katerina Mavrophilipos, 2 Southerly Ct. Unit 407, Towson, MD 21286
Checks should be made out to “Pan-Icarian Brotherhood of America“
Please reference “Diagoras” on the memo line.
In closing, please continue to reach out to us and let us know of any ideas or issues you may have. Your feedback is very important to us, and we look forward to hearing from you. Please email me anytime at Icaros@aol.com. I wish everyone a wonderful Fall season!
