Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Thanksgiving is a time for celebrating all the blessings in our lives and to remember those who are not as fortunate. I want to express my deepest gratitude to my colleagues at the Supreme Lodge and the dedicated Chapter Officers that serve the members of the Brotherhood. As we spend cherished time with family and friends, I hope you take the time to reflect on the many wonderful people in your own life and the Brotherhood. That said, please see below for recent updates/reminders
Fall Supreme Lodge Meeting
A big thank you to PSP Nicholas J. Tsalis, President Steve Papalas and the entire Spanos/Areti chapter for hosting the fall Supreme Lodge meeting on Saturday, November 4th in Detroit, Michigan. The chapter arranged a great day for the visiting Supreme Lodge members. We had a productive meeting where many issues were discussed. Following the meeting, we had the opportunity to meet with members of the chapter over dinner. Once again, thank you Spanos/Areti chapter for your hospitality.
While in Detroit, Michigan we had a chance to tour the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel, which will be the Convention hotel in 2019. The Westin Book Cadillac Hotel offers the convenience and comfort the Brotherhood seeks. The hotel offers modern guestrooms, state of the art meeting spaces and ballrooms and is located in the heart of Detroit. This hotel is a perfect space for our needs and grants us a perfect opportunity to explore Americas motor city.
Internship and Mentoring Program
The Pan-Icarian Brotherhood of America has completed the first part of the Internship and Mentoring Program that will serve as a career development resource for its members. The Brotherhood is fortunate to have a vast number of accomplished men and women with invaluable knowledge and expertise. This new initiative now allows us to further support each other by offering professional opportunities and career development. Please do your part and go online to www.pan-icarian.com/members/ to submit a form to either provide internship opportunities or to be a mentor.
As you already know, the Lodge and Foundation, with the leadership of Joanne Melacrinos, has started the lengthy but vital process of digitizing all our rich archive material. However, the Brotherhood still needs your memorabilia, photos and letters from past conventions, chapter events, and any other items that we can preserve for our future generations and add to our official Archive Center that is in Pittsburgh. Originals can be mailed, or scanned copies can be sent to me (George Paralemos) to tag and process. If you would like your name included on your donated item(s), please indicate your preference.
Diagoras Athletic Club
Lets not forget that the Pan-Icarian Brotherhood recently received a request from the Diagoras Athletic Club seeking financial assistance. The Brotherhood believes that it is important that Diagoras can continue its mission of providing athletic opportunities to the youth living in Ikaria. Please help by sending in an individual donation. We also urge each local chapter of the Brotherhood to make a chapter donation and/or host a fundraiser for this worthy cause. We hope you can lend your support for this worthy cause! Two methods of donations are accepted:Credit card donations can be made through our PayPal account:
